Does anyone have any opinions on the service/reliability etc. of http://www.2mhost.com? They were recommended on emailaddresses.com's talk forum as being inexpensive and good. But webhostingtalk forum was recommend to continue any discussion of web hosting....so I'm asking for you all's recommendations.

What I need:

50MB of webspace (and the ability to expand should I need to)
10 or 20 POP3 email addresses (to download to Outlook)
a large amount of transfer allowance, not sure how much but want extra to be available and equally inexpensive.

Hey, I only want the stars, you can have the moon!

So, is 2mhost.com reliable? Steady? customer service oriented? I don't even know what else to ask.....maybe if you like or don't like 2mhost could you tell me why...and who else you might recommend??

Thanks.

Kim

Try this

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=303332&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending

BTW, I like how they modified the Hostsearch Graphic in their site.
Althrough they have 3.23 in Hostsearch (with 2 suspicius 4 made through a proxy server) in 2mhost site appear 4.0

All I can tell you is that they have serious speed, or at least a good website response time. (I ran a test on http://alertsite.com )

Come on, be serious, unlimited bandwidth for $1.5/month?
Avoid them.

Agreed, how did they do that with HostSearch?

They just change the image generated in hostsearch for an image in their site :)

Ok, so it appears that I want to avoid 2mhost.....kinda got that "if it's too good to be true" feeling.

So....who do you recommend?

I'd like 30 to 50MB of storage space and a very large amount of download. I've seen some places say "unmetered", is that the same "line" as unlimited??

I'd like 10 or perferrably 20 pop3 accounts.

I use FrontPage 2000, but am so new at it, that I could probably just do something else if all else were good.

I don't even know what this sql is so I don't need it right now at least!

And....I'd like to spend less than $10 a month, preferablly closer to $5-7 a month.

Any recommendations?

i was at 2mhost.com for a few months, and although their severs are fast, their support was lacking. half my emails sent to support were never answered. so i will never go back to them again. right now, i'm at versehost.com. they're a relatively new host, but it's also hosted at VDI (where 2mhost.com is hosted), so i got the same blazing speed with great support. versehost.com promises an hr response time. i haven't been keeping tabs on the response time, but it is definitely very fast. i'm able to send 5+ emails back and forth with David (the dude running versehost) a day when i need the support. the plan i'm one right now is $3.95 for 100mb, and 2gigs transfer. i forgot the other details, but it's at www.versehost.com. another host you might consider is cyberwings.com. they are dirt cheap and also boast great support. i think there are a lotta posts about them in this forum.

Nevermind about their service or reliability or anything else. The first clue is $1.50 for unlimited bandwidth. Take a quick hint and remember that if the word unlimited appears alongside anything refering to bandwidth or webspace, stay far far away. Check out www.unlimband.com for more information.

Want to explain this comment? This is what is so wrong with competitors like you. No intelligent basis for this stupid comment, just a simple stereotype. I guess all "White People Can't Jump" in your world, since your ability to stereoptype flows so freely. I guess it is easier to bash host using unmetered, then to intelligently post your reasoning. Better yet, instead of opening this whole thing up again, why don't you do a search about unmetered and reply there, it seems like when it was up for discussion (numerous times) you hid in a corner.

ourbutterfli, I would disregard that post unless he comes back and clarifies things. RackShack is one of the best dedicated places around for low cost servers - they offer unmetered. Also, realize, many host pay so much for bandwidth that they would rather post as many flaming comments as possible against host who offer things like unmetered. It is called Jealous Competitor Syndrome.

Sorry for ranting, but this debate is brought up every week, and every week the majority of readers (in polls too), state they are different. Now, Jedito thinks they are the same. Fine. Realize many do not think this way. Do a search.

You're so wrong, they offer unmetered 10 mbps Network Connection, which its not the same than plain unmetered bandwidth.

Is it for you the same all the water, than all the water in your cup?

I noticed that myqth.com has 500MB and 30GB. for $48/yr. Won't know if its good, but seems to fit your budget. I got hosted once there, the only complain I have, is the server seems a bit slow.
