I operated a RaQ3 for my first server with n experince. After alot of trial an error, I eventually got the hanng of it within 2 weeks. So it's not that hard, just be willing to accept mistakes.

It can be very from moderately easy to very hard to setup a server. A lot of the details depend on the OS you choose. I seriously suggest you invest in some books. Even if you have to spend more than a $100 on books, they will pay for themselves with the time and frustration they save. I know several good books for Linux, but their names escape me at the moment (I am traveling).

You might want to find a provider that will setup a machine preconfigured for your basic needs. I have been working on our server for three-months (granted it is going to be a shared machine and that makes things more difficult).

If you are not ready for crash course in system administration, you may want to look at a company that does managed server solutions.

Merry Christmas!

Wasn't it 'Unleashed' that everyone liked? And DNS and Bind?

In my experience working with COMPLETE newbies on their RaQ2/3/4's, the Cobalt has the most intuitive interface. I know some will beg to differ, but Cobalt is also one of the most stable platforms... we have over 90 RaQ servers and one cluster of 20 of them have ALL been online for 111 days.
