I am posting this just to see if anyone has a clue. I got the following errors when trying to do a netboot to reinstall on a Cobalt RaQ.

hdc : bad access : block = 1067788, Count = 2
end_request : I/O error, dev 16:00, sector 1067788

That looks like failing hardware. The primary disk on the secondary chain IIRC

Yes looks like bad hardware, maybe you would like to mount it on another linux system to see if the data is still can be retrieved.
