View Full Version : Anyone know Online magazine software?
l0ck_up 05-31-2005, 01:40 AM I have plan to make hosting directory or online magazine about hosting, does anyone know such software (CMS) for this purpose?
I have tight budget for this, I can't afford more than $100. So low cost solution might be better ;)
Thanks
b_andrew 05-31-2005, 04:15 AM You can find a very good free one at http://www.campware.org - it's called CampSite.
l0ck_up 05-31-2005, 04:59 AM anyone else?
Thanks b_andrew
l0ck_up 05-31-2005, 07:20 AM I found script from softbizscripts.com which is Host Directory Script, looks good. Anyone has experience with this script or its developer (softbizscripts.com)?
Thanks
Ncturnal 07-12-2005, 03:48 PM I know I'm waking this thread from the dead, but I just wanted to relate my experiences with the poor customer service characteristics of Softbizscripts.com. Once they have your money, it is impossible to get any support from them. They do not have any phone numbers or email addresses listed on their site. Their domain registration is private. They have went to great lengths to shield their privacy so they can simply ignore your problems. I purchases software from the on Sunday, July 10, 2005. The message on the site said the software had to be customized for my specific domain name and that a link to download would be emailed to me. It never was and I finally went to www.geodesicsolutions.com and purchased an alternative which is working great. Every attempt at obtaining a refund from softbizscripts.com aka softbizsolutions.com has come up empty handed. They simply say the software was delivered and to check my paypal order page. There is no link listed anywhere in pay either. I sent them screenshots of my paypal pages showing them this. They are out to scam you out of your money which is why they make it impossible to get in touch with them. Buyer beware. The only address I have for them is admin@softbizscripts.com. Feel free to let them know you won't do business with a company like that if you are so inclined.
l0ck_up 07-12-2005, 09:37 PM Ncturnal thanks for your reply, I'll watch my step with them, but looks like I won't deal with them, I have other alternative. ;)
Ncturnal 07-12-2005, 09:59 PM I did end up getting my money back today, but I had to do it by filing a claim through Paypal, which suprisingly, they handled very quickly.
phpcow.com is great software or try some free ones line drupal
l0ck_up 07-17-2005, 01:31 PM poor me I can't pay by paypal, I can only pay by credit cards

The owner trades under at least 6 domain names, all lead to the Punjab.
Is he "savvy" in Scriptlance, if he is, I think he writes his own glowing references.
A waste of space, never answers sales enquiries...
Thanks for the heads-up.

I've setup a couple of their scripts, they are loaded with features and very adaptable for users with little or no html knowledge. Their support is excellent and any problems/issues are sorted out. Recommened!
tamasrepus 02-18-2006, 10:10 PM Obligatory Drupal reference (http://www.drupal.org/). There are a few online-magazine Drupal sites that I remember seeing.
xdk69 02-19-2006, 01:21 PM You can try joomla cms and ijoomla magazine component (www.ijoomla.com (http://www.ijoomla.com)). I am using it and you could see some site previews there. So far i am happy with it
