Favorite IDE: It sucks to say this, but Visual Studio for C/C++. Eclipse for Java.
Comments: RedHat is way overrated and I wish other distros would get more support/recognition. Dealing with RedHat all the time is draining.

Servers: Gentoo
While it takes longer to install due to compilation time, a Gentoo server from Stage 1 tends to use less CPU and memory resources than any other distro I've used in the past 11 years.
Which Linux Distro or UNIX flavor do you prefer for your workstations?
Gentoo again, similar reasons to the above, also because it's so insanely configurable and so easy to maintain/upgrade.
Do you use this as your main workstation O.S.?
Yes, I made the full linux switch late last year, and only recently re-installed windows to play certain games (Guild Wars!) All my development and maintainence is done in Linux as I find things tend to run smoother and faster for those applications.
Which Window Manager and or Desktop do you use/prefer?
I'm using KDE 3.4 as it seems to have more supported "native" programs. I like the interface, and I don't need all the eye-candy of some of the other WM's.
Compile your own kernel?
Of course!
Bootstrap your own O.S.?
It's Gentoo, how can you not?
