How do I check admin mail on RAQ3 without telnetting to the box? It won't let me do it over POP even though I enabled encrypted logon (APOP) -- I guess it's a security feature? Is there a way to forward all the admin/root mail to a separate e-mail account maybe? How do you usually read your admin mail?

fatale,
You can check e-mail for the admin user through PINE via telnet, POP or IMAP, or through a web-based e-mail client. To use POP, however, you will need to actually uncheck the APOP authentication box in the web-based administration panel. APOP is only supported by a few e-mail clients to my knowledge, and I am not aware of any advantages that make it absolutely necessary for most users. You should be able to set up IMAP normally. Lastly, you could use a PHP or Perl-based script to set up your own web-based e-mail.
Hope this helps.

Hmm, after I tried to connect to admin account using normal POP3 method it did get through. And I do have "Enable Secure POP3 (APOP)" checked for the main site and all virtual hosting sub-accounts for that matter. So, I guess my question is, how do I make it secure then? I don't want my root password flying over unsecured channels...
when trying to send mail using pine, i get the following error:
[Mail not sent. Sending error: 554 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50]
anyone have any ideas?
