HI,

It's Ok to register a domain for a client (with all his info) and use the to-be-created email account as reference? Is there any problem with that?

I don't believe it's ever a good idea to have the administrative contact for the domain associated with the domain name itself.
If something happens whereby the domain is unassessable, there is no way to provide proof of ownership by using the administrative email contact.

Absolutely right on.

If your admin contact for a domain is at the domain, you are at risk of losing your domain if for any reason your domain is disfunctional.

High risk.

Good point. I haven't had any problems with that yet. I'm sure I will one of these days.

The biggest problem I can foresee is what happens if the confirmation e-mail is sent to that address before the account is live?

I had this problem once before and effectively lost the account.

I don't know any domain registrars who do this, but I suppose it's possible.

You are at much higher risk of not being able to renew the domain without jumping through hoops (faxes, registered mail, phone calls, etc) if the domain expires and your email stops working.
