I'm just starting out at offering my work to other people.

I would like to get my work out there and hope that some of you are interested in having me do some work for you.

Take a look at http://www.pentameter.org/logos

I'm not expecting a ton of money, but maybe something in return for my services, if you would like to pay me - and help me get myself off the ground - that would be great. Or put a link up on your site or anything.

Basically I just want to get started doing this.

Is $10 too much to charge for graphics of any size, shape or design? I offered that before and no one was interested.

I recently started professional designing myself, and I think you could help from a few pointers. Realize I am trying to help and do not mean to criticize you in any way.

1) Don't ASK what people will give you. Instead, tell them what you have to offer.
2) Appear to be a knowledgable designer, whether you are or not should not matter.
3) Make sure you know what other designers are asking for before you post. Many charge from $50-$500 for a logo.
4) If you see that people are not interested, try to find out why. There is a reason.
5) Be positive your communication and vocabulary gives off a good image. 12 year olds who can design, but who sound like 12 year olds, will more often than not be turned away.

Good luck in the future

Hi, thanks for the tips.

A bit ago, I made a post similar to this and quoted what I was looking for insofar as pricing goes. I recieved no offers at all.

I'm not being bitter, just wondering if my design skills are lacking or if people just weren't willing to pay a relative newcomer.

Basically this thread is both an offer and a way for me to get some advice. :)

I really appreciate your input.
