Good Evening,

So for about a week now my hosting company and I have been going back and forth about the setup of modernbill. Several issues have been solved; however, I ran into an interesting one today that they are even confused at.

I would like to know if in a shared environment such as a reseller account if it is possible to use the API and Cpanel model to set up accounts?

I configured everything imodernbill in the Cpanel model and it will not connect to the Cpanela nd pull the version up.

Thanks,
Zachary R. McClung, Owner

Matt,

Not sure who was confused but we have any customers running modernbill on a shared enviroment and provisioning to a shared cpanel/whm environement.

You simply have to make sure that you are using the remote access hash from whm for the user whose plans are being sold.

Hey,

That is the thing. I have read and saw all kinds of hosts run modernbill on a shared environmnet and have every function of Modernbill. Mine when I go to connect popls up an error.

The tech staff is telling me that I will not have access to the Cpanel database so It will be impossible to do. Do you mind in telling me what I need to do to have it run all the auto accounts and connect to the server?

Well from the error it shows the problem to be with the cpanel hash key or the username.

If you are sure that your reseller whm username is hcaz3200 then you would have to double check the remote access key.

Try generating a new remote access key if required and paste it in your modernbill without the "------BEGIN WHM ACCESS KEY------" and "-------END WHM ACCESS KEY-------" comments.

Hi Everyone.

So generating a new Hash didn't work. I have done it twice and it is still causing problems.

The username is my username. It rejects root as well which it should since it is on a shared environment.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Zach,

Put in a ticket at www.modernsupport.com/modernbill and I am sure one of our many techs can help get this resolved. Please remember that it is memorial day weekend and staffing will be light.

Gardanni,

The solution is: Yes, it can be ran in a shared environment. 2) Make sure that the use the IP for the host of the server and not a hostname because it might change and everything matches exactly in WHM to Modernbill. It is a key. If you have any further questions please email me at zach.mcclung@bizhostingnetwork.com. I would be more then happy to help you.
