Hi, I'm not sure this is the right board, but here goes. I signed up recently with a webhost for a reseller account with 10 dedicated ips. I was given a main ip to work with, but when I asked for the ip to use for ns2, my webhost went to my registrar and changed dns of 9 random domain names to "his" registrar under ns3 and ns4. I was under the impression that I need two ip addresses for each hostname, primary and secondary and that the result after dns change looks like ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com instead of ns3.webhostregistrarname.com and ns4.webhostregistrarname.com. Of course, when I first bought the domain names they were just parked with ns1.myregistrarname.com and ns2myregistrarname.com. Also, in ip-based hosting, when is it necessary to have only one ip for nameserver registration? I thought you had to have two according to regulations. Thank you in advance for any info. on this subject.

Whether you are required to have two nameservers with different IP addresses or not is dependant on the Registry that controls your domains.

Some even require the nameserver to be inside the country that hosts the ccTLD.

I didn't understand a word of your post surrounding what your hosting company did and what happened to your domain records though...
