I've have a site that isn't computer related and I need to somehow attract more visitors. Does anyone have an experience with banner exchange programs or paying for a banner that advertizes my site to be displayed on other websites. I already registered my site with search engines and already added meta tags to my site (eventhough I hear they don't do much). What are some good ways to advertize a site to attract more hits?

I would say try trading links with other webmasters with similar content, or posting in news groups, besides getting visitors from search engines..

is it an online store? and from where you bought it?
and a good banner ad program is http://compactbanner.com
they pay you $0.20 / 1000 480x60 banners shown on any page, and $0.41 /1000 banner frames shown.
Or if popups the best is http://popuptraffic.com ($3/1000 popups).

After making his site popular he will probably search for a way to make some money to pay for the advertisings he has done  So i told him for the future.
And the best way of advertising is http://clickthru.com
You visit and rank sites and earn money to advertise your site with the money you got :)

Yeah, right now we're not looking to make money from the banner hits, we just need to get more visitors to make the site more well-known. My site (actually the site I designed and maintain for the company's owner) isn't an online store but we market only a couple products and then we take orders first from email and then accept payments in the mail or through PayPal.
