Hi everyone.

I've been using lots of different hosting companies over the past few years and it's finally come to the time when I need a dedicated server as I have over 30 sites to take care of.

I need a dedicated server company that will take care of people like me who know little about server administration and just want to simply and quickly add new sites/domains to my dedicated server and offer a EXCELLENT level of support.

I need between 50-100 gigs a month bandwidth and PHP / mySQL installed plus be allowed to play Real Audio files off the server. Cpanel would be nice too - but I understand if this pushes the prices up too much.

Does anyone know of any companies with a long standing reputation and excellent support record (please, no brand new-just opened-last week companies.....) that are suited for newbies like me (and who are willing to install/help/support me with little or no server knowledge?)

Ideally I would like to pay between $50-150 a month. I expect the set-up fees to be higher of course ;)

Please guys and girls - your advice is vital to me and I would really appreciate any assistance in sorting this out :)

When you find someone offering a fully managed dedicated server for between $50 and $100 per month, please PM me as I'll fall over the chair to sign up.

That's great advice grandad - thanks for your contribution. Ahem.

I wouldn't need a fully managed dedicated server - I just need a company that will help a newbie at first and once I get going I will be fine on my own.

Check out the Special Offers section, you should find some nice deals there.

For control panel, I'd suggest Plesk which is cheaper than CPanel, not as fancy but surely more stable than CPanel. H-Sphere from psoft.net is also a good alternative.

twrs: Thanks. There are so many offers in that forum it's difficult to tell which company is the best as many companies advertising seem so new or without a support record/large customer base.

My question is for people who are already using a good company and who can really recommend their services to me the newbie.

Rackshack DO look good - but it looks a bit complicated to set-up...... ;)

Hi Timbo,

From what you've described, I suggest DialTone. They have a very fast and responsive support team who will help you answer all sorts of basic (and complicated) questions.

I also suggest looking at their ctrl panels. They will do the basic functions for you: adding web sites, email, users, etc. (and it's free with the server).
