View Full Version : Linkpoint Central Recurring Transactions
sprintserve 05-25-2005, 05:21 AM Hi
Anyone else having all their recurring transactions vanished from their Linkpoint central since the move to Denver DC?
We haven't had a single recurring transaction processed since 21st. While the email said the window is only for 5 hours or so, I didn't think about it until today.
I viewed all our recurring transactions to see that it's all not there any more except for the one we added yesterday.
Anyone got these issues?
I would love to email their support, but they always had a faulty mail server configuration. Has been all along from day 1.
Example from logs:
2005-05-25 04:34:12 H=(mail.csi-corp.com) [205.167.140.14] sender verify fail for <root@mp1sunx0012.csi-corp.com>: unrouteable mail domain "mp1sunx0012.csi-corp.com"
Well apparently they didn't set both a forward dns and reverse dns for their mail domain.
root@ [/var/log]# ping mp1sunx0012.csi-corp.com
ping: unknown host mp1sunx0012.csi-corp.com
Since the move, I also started seeing this in my logs:
2005-05-22 21:15:25 1Da1XR-0003FY-Az <= bounce-2079-575331@listserv.linkpoint.com H=mail.listserv.linkpoint.com (mp12ksx0162) [205.167.140.84] P=smtp S=4906 id=LYRIS-575331-2079-2005.05.22-12.49.23--email#domain.com@listserv.linkpoint.com
So as you can see we haven't have much luck communicating with them.
midnightz 05-25-2005, 08:16 PM I am having the same problems on all three of my hosting company's connecting to Linkpoint and was checking to see if a thread was here by chance.
HTML Support (LP Support) usually answers the phone within two minutes, now the wait is up to two plus hours. I have reached them twice (I should I say my wife did after I gave up) one time being I think routed out of the US. The time we called was on Tuesday at 3AM PST and the guy that answered the phone and said the blah, blah, what's on the note in front of me said that the issue with periodic billing not showing up when searched for any info esp. a periodic from May before the move they all exist but as transactions but not periodics, said he would escalate the complaint with my store vendor id. I was kind of trying to kind of get into his head and after some mind playing, he stated that he was the only employee answering phones at the Agoura Hills, CA Call Center.
The transactions say type periodic, but the periodic part of the system is virtually non existent except for new clients that signed up over the past 4 days or so. We are perplexed as we don't wish to rebuild all the info ourselves at all.
I would love even to get a Threshold reached email, but not even that to speak of. Even though I am hating the lack of periodic fires to our banking accounts, I am more worried about the embarrasme of the slight chance of calling globally and explaining why we need the client to sign up again.
This is just very poor planning on their part.
We started to type this letter, but gave up since we believe it will go nowhere (as I listen to Caribbean Music while being on hold)
----------------------------------------
The recent data move has caused a significant problem for my businesses As your site states, the May historical data is now available, but all of my periodic billing has been wiped out. Instead, I am only able to view transactions that occurred in the past, with no view of whether this billing should be recurring. This is the mainstay of my business, as I run a service organization that relies on billing clients on a monthly or yearly.
I have called your HTML Support line at least twice, but the techs I spoke with could provide no updates, nor would they tell me to whom I could escalate this problem. Restoring my periodic billing data is critical to the survival of my business, and I desperately need for someone to provide me with an update as to when this will be resolved.
then I though, I would be emailing this to mailbox that would never be checked.
I would love to get this sorted, as I love the way they make you agree to the new TOS and then you enter your abyss of missing virtual paychecks...
sprintserve 05-26-2005, 12:17 AM Well I got an assurance from a third party that the recurring transaction data is there, just not enabled. I really dread having to key in hundreds of recurring payment all over again if something awful happen.
midnightz 05-26-2005, 12:35 AM Yes, I fully agree. I don't have a spare week to even begin. Hopefullty they enable it soon.
Please keep us (me) updated as i will as well.
Thx.
sprintserve 05-26-2005, 12:51 AM Well it's summer holidays now. Can probably pay some college kids to do data entry if it comes to the crunch. Though, I think they should be better than that.
sprintserve 05-26-2005, 07:17 AM I just got this in email (basically something that says nothing):
Dear Valued Customer,
As you may be aware, this past weekend we moved the Linkpoint gateway production site from Burbank, California to Denver, Colorado. During the transition, we experienced certain issues that affected, among other things, some customers’ ability to log into the website, confirm certain actions or view historical reporting. Customized web pages and settings as well as periodic billing may have been affected for some merchants. Please note that we are working diligently to address all technical difficulties that our customers are experiencing. For most merchants, historical data between May 1, 2005 through May 24, 2005 should now be available, except for periodic billing information. Data for previous months should become available over the next few days.
We truly appreciate your patience during this transition and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during the transition process. We will continue to make status updates available. For additional information, please visit our website at www.linkpoint.com and click on the gateway status for future updates or email us at support@linkpoint.com.
Thank you for your business.

midnightz 05-26-2005, 10:27 PM Still the same here as well.
sprintserve 05-27-2005, 12:08 AM Yup. Still down here as well. This is one of the worse migrations I seen in a long long time.
sprintserve 05-27-2005, 11:29 AM We never had a single downtime, not even during the migration. Just that they somehow didn't complete the migration of the data over, especially the periodic data.
websites4u2day 05-27-2005, 03:54 PM I am not worried at all. I have been extremely happy with the services that I have been provided in the past.
I have been reassured that the periodic billing is not lost, just not imported.
I do not see how you can even say LinkPoint is a joke. Chase Financial services is the largest ISO / acquirer and uses is. And Wells Fargo uses it. I just did not want to use them as my processor, that is why I chose Cardservice. And that is why I refer all my clients over to Cardservice
Mitch Farber is the joke at Netbilling. After one meeting with him I knew that I could never push any of my business over to him or that company.
nbalthaser 06-23-2005, 12:51 PM my company continues to have major problems with periodic billing after the linkpoint migration. we have to check the system each day to ensure that bills are firing and firing for the right amount. we continue to both lose periodic bills and for bills to fire which are way outside the amount they are supposed to fire monthly for (e.g. we have had a bill fire for over $500 when the customer was only supposed to be billed $19.95). we are losing customers because of this and we are also losing revenue because we have to offer free service to compensate them for the error.
we have contacted the president of linkpoint and are awaiting his reply. in the meantime, we are looking for other customers of linkpoint who are experiencing these same frustrating problems to join us in making linkpoint fix these problems. please feel free to email me your email address.
cheers,
neil balthaser
sprintserve 06-23-2005, 01:16 PM Yes. We continue to face issues, and we have been in contact with Linkpoint, our merchant account provider etc. and been pushing them day in day out. I never notice any wrong amount as for up to 3 weeks after the migration, the emails sent to us is blank (they only fixed it last week or so)
Now we are grappling with PB transactions that have been modified to a future date still firing daily.
It's beyond ridiculous.
thetopguy 06-25-2005, 06:14 PM We also have some problems with periodic billing. Our agent (Corey) has been working diligently with Linkpoint representatives to get it fixed.
Neil, you might want to contact your agent for some continued support to help you work through the other issues.
Currently, we do not see any problems right now.
And actually who did you contact at LinkPoint? LinkPoint actually does not have a president. There is no one at LinkPoint that has that title. And I am sure that Cardservice will be going through your account to verify that all charges have been rectified
sprintserve 06-26-2005, 07:22 AM I just notice one of our PB didn't get fired on 21st June yesterday. Currently we detect an average of 1 bug a day.
nbalthaser 06-26-2005, 12:56 PM please send me your emails so that i can keep a contact list. we may be able to affect action and/or rememdy a solution if they know that we are grouping.
cheers,
neil
sprintserve 06-27-2005, 12:51 AM To be frank, I don't think so. I don't think that's going to help anything.
nectar 07-04-2005, 08:01 PM Does anyone here have a decent alternative to the LinkPoint gateway? We have been ueing them for 3 years now and it's about time we moved. Their customer service doesn't know what they're doing half the time, very rude, and they have technical gliches since the server move to Denver.
Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
sprintserve 07-05-2005, 01:23 AM We are considering the same and has been given alternatives such as Verisign Payflow Pro or Authnet, with the former given higher marks. But the only thing holding us back is we have hundreds of recurring transactions and we are told that it's not possible to import it using a csv file or similar. If anyone know of something that can do that, we will gladly consider it.
nbalthaser 07-05-2005, 01:34 AM regarding recurring transactions: one thing to consider is start moving the records over by hand (what a pain) but do it slowly and then when you're ready switch over.
