And if you want very nice, but slightly more expensive, check out EasyDNS (http://www.easydns.com/). It's also nice because you can get a backup mail spool also.

$19.95 USD per domain, per year is way over my budget. Our current registrar provide free DNS, mail fowarding, url redirecting, url frame etc all for $10.95/year incl. domain name. But I actually need the DNS for other country code domain which my registrar donot handle.

Anyway thanks a lot!

NEVER PAY more than $9 for DNS

The best and cheapest dns host is

www.godaddy.com at $8.95

DNS is not the same as domain name. DNS is the name server. Besides, there are cheaper ones than godaddy.com.

Try hn.org (Hammernode). A couple of our customers use them, and are very pleased. I don't think they've had more than one or two short outages for years (I put them on my monitoring service for fun).

Edit: Does anybody know whether ZoneEdit allows private label nameservers (ns1.yourname.com, ns2.yourname.com)?

Stargateinc.com will give you $8 each if you register at least two domain names.

From the Partner FAQ (https://www.zoneedit.com/doc/partner/faq.html)

I want ns1.mydomain.com, can you do that?

ZoneEdit charges a one-time fee od $399.95 for "vanity domains". This includes the IP allocation and the BIND server.

I really like ZoneEdit. I've tried HammerNode, but their TTL is set to 24 hours, and I didn't like that. GraniteCanyon is okay if you know what you're doing, but they take too long to update. I prefer to run my own DNS servers.
