View Full Version : Gamers Dream Machine - Internap, Dual Proc, NY
webephex 05-22-2005, 10:34 AM I have one dedicated server up for sale to either rent or rent-to-own. The server is located at Telehouse, NY and connected to interNAP.
Server Specs:
1U Case with advanced thermal cooling system
Tyan Thunder K7X Motherboard
Dual Athlon MP 2400+ Processors
2GB DDR Memory
18.5GB 15K SCSI Disk
Windows 2000 Pro (With tightvnc)
Ordered from http://dualathlonservers.com/
It runs all games smoothly and can handle running lots of servers or other applications at the same time.
Location & Bandwidth
The server is located at Telehouse, New York and is connected to Thorn. Thorn is pure internap transit with some peering connectios. I have found that this provides even LOWER pings than pure interNAP in almost all cases. You can see the pings for yourself:
216.213.172.96
We can be very flexible on the bandwidth amount; see below for pricing.
Pricing & Options
The following are the prices and options for the server:
$139/mo. - Base fee (Rackspace, Hardware, etc.)
add $49/mo. - 8 Month Rent to Own
add $89/mo. - Per MBPS of bandwidth (95th%)
For example:
The server with 1 MBPS of interNAP Bandwidth (95th%) would be only:
$129+$89=$228
-OR- add $49 and own the server in 8 months! You can have the server mailed to you, or keep it with us for a base fee of only $69 per month.
Bandwidth can be purcashed in units of 256kbps.
This is a price that is unheard of for a machine of these specifications with interNAP bandwidth!
Please contact me if you are interested. Payment is done through a paypal subscription. If you have any questions please reply to this thread, PM me, or e-mail me.
Thanks,
Peter Shaw

webephex 05-22-2005, 01:43 PM My apologies on the example, please add $10.
The server with 1 MBPS of interNAP Bandwidth (95th%) would be:
$139+$89=$238
Sorry for the mistake.
Defcon|Rich 05-23-2005, 12:11 AM Do you have remote hands on site?
webephex 05-23-2005, 07:06 PM Being a small company, we do not have our own staff located at telehouse 24/7, but we do work with people onsite to resolve any issues that may come up that may require onsite work.
We are only offering this for one of our servers, so please act fast before it is taken.
CyanoX 05-24-2005, 10:04 PM $139 + $89 = $228...
Defcon|Rich 05-24-2005, 10:57 PM Can I ask who you have for onsite staff? You can PM me the info too if you don't feel like listing it here.
Thanks

Sorry i corrected the error in my reply to the initial post. The base price is $139 and the server with 1 mbps of interNAP bandwidth is $238 per month.
Thanks,
CyanoX 05-25-2005, 06:15 PM So it's actually $99 per mbps of Internap?
FHDave 05-25-2005, 06:25 PM It's not Internap. It's Thorn bandwidth, which is this: http://www.fixedorbit.com/AS/12/AS12124.htm

Sent you a PM. We do not keep our own staff at telehouse 24/7, but we have access to the telehouse staff if we need anything done onsite.

We get our bandwidth from Thorn Communications. They resell interNAP transit with additional peering at telehouse. The bandwidth is essentially the same quality as pure interNAP transit.
I am very sorry for misleading anyone into thinking it is PURE interNAP bandwidth, it does have additional peering.
But yes i blieve it fair for me to say that is essentially $89 per mbps of internap bandwidth.
You can compare the performance of Thorn Co. by tracing or pinging this IP (the server for sale):
216.213.172.96
Thank you very much,
CyanoX 05-25-2005, 07:00 PM Sorry i corrected the error in my reply to the initial post. The base price is $139 and the server with 1 mbps of interNAP bandwidth is $238 per month.
Thanks,
But if it is $238/month for server and 1mbps of bandwidth, then $238 - $139 (base price) = $99.00/per mbps. So which is it, $89 or $99........

Both routes are taken over interNAP.
I believe the only routes that will not be taken over interNAP are from servers belonging to the small networks that thorn peers with.
Regards,
webephex 05-25-2005, 07:15 PM My mistake
In the initial post i wrote that the $129+$89=$228; I wrote down the wrong initial base price (129 instead of 139), however i did not realize that i had made the write final price and added 10 to the final price to compensate for i thought i had done incorrectly. I apologize for my poor addition skills in the first 2 posts. :)
My calculator must be broken ;)
The Price is:
$139 + $89 per mbps + and optional $49 to rent-to-own
For a total of $228 for the server with 1 mbps of Bandwidth.
all is per month, and USD
CyanoX 05-25-2005, 07:18 PM lol :) I just wanted to clear that out. Great deal!
