Position Description
Hard working, team oriented remote Systems Admin / Tech Support position. Responsibilities include supporting customers with Linux and Windows servers, network operations, and providing customer service, billing and sales assistance.

Candidate MUST show an above average aptitude for basic Linux administration commands, use of Perl, and a solid understanding of the bash scripting language.

Communication with clients would be via our web based helpdesk and live chat. If you prove yourself after a few weeks we'd consider having you assist customers via phone remotely via our VOIP based system.

YOU MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH THE H-SPHERE CONTROL PANEL. IT WOULD BE A GREAT PLUS IF YOU WERE ALSO FAMILIAR WITH THE ALABANZA CONTROL PANEL.

Some of your Job Duties would include
Administering Red Hat Servers.
Administering Windows 2000 and 2003 servers.
Working with Apache / Sendmail / BIND / FTP/ DNS / POP / SMTP / MySQL / PostgreSQL etc.
Networking protocols and network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Assist with office systems, special projects and additional duties as required from a small, fast growing company.
Responding to customer technical support inquiries via our web based helpdesk, phone and live chat system.
Communicate with the Data Network Department and Technical Support Representatives to report current or potential problems with network or web hosting services.
Communicate and follow up with customers for resolution of customer troubles.
Research, resolve, and respond to various customer inquiries received by phone, e-mail, and voice mail.

Qualifications

Candidate MUST show an above average aptitude for basic Linux administration commands, use of Perl, and a solid understanding of the bash scripting language.
2 years experience using and administering hosting control panels
2 years experience with RedHat Linux and FreeBSD
1 year experience with Windows Server
2 years experience with TCP/IP networking concepts
2 years experience with Apache / Sendmail / BIND / FTP/ DNS / POP / SMTP / MySQL / PostgreSQL etc.
Expertise in at least one UNIX scripting/programming language
Willingness to work nights, mornings and weekends as needed and on an on-call basis to insure network reliability and customer support.
Excellent customer service, organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work without any supervision. A thorough background check and references will be required.
Painstaking attention to detail and thoroughness

Additional Desired Qualifications
Experience with server control panels such as H-sphere, Plesk, Ensim, Alabanza or CPanel.
Experience with BGP routing
Experience with hardware and software firewalls
Experience with intrusion detection systems and network security concepts
Software engineering experience
Experience with managed switches and VLANs
Experience with Cisco IOS, switches, and IP routing

Hours
Flexible, we have many different shifts currently available.
