where i started my business on the net i thought i will gain much money from sell the domains in my country , but i have big problem , my problem is the people dont know what is the domain what is the web site hosting when you say i take $50 for one html page they say it is too much they want to take all things for free , i dont what to do how can i market my web site & the products ?
i uesed the local news paper to market it but i failed .
any one can give advice ?

You may want to be a little more clear on what it is that you're selling. Perhaps then we can make recommendations.

That's actually a pretty common problem. You need to educate your future customers. You said it yourself they don't know what domains are. Organize some sort of a workshop, create a comprehensive tutorial that will teach your potential customers what web hosting is and what it can do for their business. Distribute it for free, collect the information and use those leads to sell your services later on.

There's a lot of different ways to go about it, just be creative...

wardtheking, depending on where you live, you might be hard pressed to find many customers willing to pay $50 per HTML page. No, I'm not saying the price is too high. What I'm saying is that I live in a poor country where with the exception of a few relatively powerful businesses, there would be little market for those kind of services at that pricing level.

Maybe your local market would be better suited for slightly modified templates instead of completely original sites? :)

In such situation you should target the group of businessman at least who use computers, students, and educated class of people and conduct a seminar or workshop to educate them by demonstrating the benefit of having domain and web site hosting.

I think this is the better way to promote rather than going for an advertisement.
You may get plenty of business as you might have no competitors right now.

i have a web site & sell web host domains ssl & more , i also design web sites , my customers dont want to pay money for the serves the prefer it free or for little money , i live in jordan we have good market but when we talk about internet they do not know what we talk about whan we try to promote our service they dont want they dont want to hear thay ask about the price & they need cheaper price , this service is new one the general market in jordan but we also have big company which design & serve the web for high price they sell the domain from $ 72 up to $170 . i will try to find another ways to promote my service.

Word of mouth is the way to go. If you get a couple customers and give them great customer service they will tell everyone about your services.

He should also try out the other mode of advertisement like yellow pages, press, cinema screen, radio, direct mail depending on the trend and suitability of that particular target market.
