View Full Version : Free Support Desk Script

We are looking out for a PHP Support Desk to support our clients in the future, we don't have any cash to spend as we just need a stop gap until the script we want to use is completed with the feature that we require

We had a look at PerlDesk, but not one of our developers could get the darn thing to work on our servers, we're pro's in this buisness, and to this very day don't know why it works.

We have installed a HelpDesk script that we are very pleased with at http://jsnwebservices.com/helpdesk (You can try it out, as the username and password are filled in).

But the only problem with this is that users cannot create their own accounts, it's a great application, just that it's a pain for us to create accounts for our users. Although we have been promised that this script will contain this feature very soon.

If anyone has any ideas, on how we can possibly do what I have mentioned for free, with a good script, it would be greately appreciated.

Thanks for your Help

That is really too bad about PerlDesk not working. I also had some issues at first but once I installed the required DBI perl module it worked like a champ and it is the best I have seen. Did you confirm that the DBI module is installed?

Is this the helpdesk script?

If so, I'll see if I can't find the admin add user function, and just make a signup.php page.. Pretty easy...

Not sure why you couldn't get PerlDesk installed, took me about 5 minutes...

Maybe you didn't have the correct perl modules installed...

I also use Perldesk and I think it is brillant. Easy to use , feature filled and best of all free. :D :D

Yeah, the DBI module is installed as we have ran other scripts that use mysql through CGI, and they have worked fine, just seem to have problems with PerlDesk. :-(

Yep that is the one, I've just emailed the developers and they say that they should release the final version within a few weeks, with this feature in, So I guess I'll just have to make accounts for clients until then!
