I thought the same thing until a couple weeks ago.. I think it was them they found a way around that and a way around the 40gig HDD limit.. I belive they were throwing 60 gig drives in etc. mpalamar 03-19-2002, 04:26 PM Originally posted by Angel78 am...on their special they do have setup fee`s and have a 1024 mb ram RAQ4. i thougt that raq4 has max of 512???? They posted an ad in the ad forum a couple of weeks ago. I think they made some hardware mods to max out the ram at one gig. Mike skylab 03-20-2002, 04:18 AM i'd definitely like to know how they did that, although, i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out. i wish i had my hands on a raq4 and i'd tear it apart and mess with it all day. buuut, yeah, i like the looks of their network alot, but from europe, my response time to my current network(www.serverrack.net in the US) is around 5 - 25ms faster on all hops, and i'm getting a raq4 with 512mb ram / 20gb hdd / 65gb bandwidth for $95 per month + $100 setup. compared to cobaltracks $99 / month + $300 setup. i get less hdd space(but a tad more bandwidth), and hdd space doesn't really matter to me personally. but cobaltracks does look good, i'll add it to my list of hosts... i'd love to have 1024mb ram on my raq4 though! heh. cyrusTvirus 03-20-2002, 04:31 AM Hi, Perhaps give it a shot at ebay ? We did it once to get a server to play with. Worked like a charm for us..... Ofcourse you do have a second hand server but on the other hand you do have a cheap one also. Rob |
