I am trying to launch my music board and am trying get a host in less than 48 hours but I don't know which one.

I have a list of host that after reading comments about them on the forum for about a hour I still don't know which one I should use especially when I will be having a vbulletin board and autorank php topsites so I will need between 15 to 25 gig bandwidth but i can only spend about $100 yearly nothing over.

They all have a plan for $99 a year that I can work with but I need at least 20gig bandwidth and at least 500mb space

Can anyone help me please? Which one yall think I should use and please give details why.

well if you want at least 20GIG and 500mb space for less than $100yr, well good luck.......you may find it but I am pretty sure you will be disapointed.....

out of your list, I would choose tera-byte or myacen...

Ok how about over 300 MB close to 400 and at least 20gig bandwidth?

Before making any decision, there's one question you have to ask yourself: do you really need that much?

Contrary to what some may say, message boards do not take up that many resources. What kind of a user base to you expect at first, and how many on-line at once?

Chances are, you could do with a lot less.

Actually I am trying to sign up a year and I want that much banwidth and space because my current board average 50 - 100 new members a week according to my board stats so chances are in the forum I might have more. Ya I will upgrade later by next year from shared. Also I need more space and bandwidth because I will be redirecting a topsite and maybe a ikonboard to a directory on this same host im looking for. Ya ya im a cheap bastard but im just starting off and im not getting paid for this yet so until I can find good ways to get money out of it then I will do more about it.


My two choices so far are myacen.com and tera-byte.com. I have read lots of good comments about both and I know that myacen just started and I don't really think they have their own datacenter but maybe using a dedicated I think but im really not sure.

Yeah, chances are a lot less space and BW would do ya fine. If you do find someone offering your original specs, you WILL be disappointed with perfomance and possibly support as well.

I am paying 100 bucks a year (tad less) and get 200MB /10GB.

You mentioned also possibly hosting 2 forums on one shared hosting account. I think that pretty much goes against most TOS.
Now I have been wrong before, and could be this time. The advice you surely know already is to just do your homework, as apparently you are. :D
