I didn't know where else to post this but...

There is a vBulletin user out there re-distributing Content from other sites without permission. They have redistributed a lot of articles from SitePoint and we feel that it is copyright violation.

I personally have found over 15 articles that belong to SitePoint. SitePoint has taken actions to get them shutdown. However if you have a content site and value your exclusive content rights you might want to check as well, because I know the person who runs this board is a member of these forums.

You can find the site at http://www.thefreesearch.com/.

I suggest you look for several of your key articles, author names and topics. They have hundreds of articles on their site.

These people seem to have no regard for copyright or ownership rights.

Thank You for your time,
Wayne Luke

I'm very sorry to hear this, Wayne. A copyright is a copyright, dingblast it -- not that I haven't had a dozen or more of my own articles lifted (that I know of, at any rate).

Obviously, with the url blocked out, I cannot tell what site this is... and I *do* understand WHT's concern in not posting it through.

I should very much like to know, however, as my firm *does* vigorously prosecute theft... If you have a moment to post me privately, Wayne, it would be appreciated.

Wayne, I'll bug Mark again on ICQ when I next see him sometime this week. I'll also chase up American Webhosting to try and see if they'll crack under the copyright rules.

The URL is filtered out for obvious reasons but put the word 'the' before freesearch.com and you'll know precisely which site it is.

Directly drawing suit against the hosting company is a standard tactic... which, incidentally, usually works nicely.
