Does anybody know anything about this company (one with 3 names)? They offer really cheap bandwith, but I don't think it's anything like cogent because the last traceroute that I could see (before they block it) is going through pnap. They are at 56 marrietta building, I believe, which (from what I hear) is a superb building too.

Please let me know if you know anything about this company.

cheers,

They are not in 56 Marietta. They are out somewhere north of Atlanta in their own building. I know one of the guys that facilitated them getting fiber out to their building, and he says they're all nice guys there. Don't know much more than that, however.

Merietta FiberNet is only one of their partners. The also mention UUNet, Sprint, Internap, Qwest, and cable and wireless as their bandwith partners. The price is unbelievable if this is true. Not only that, they provide 99.999% uptime guarantee, very impressive.

The company has been around for almost 2 yars, yet I have never heard anything about them ....

Any other input/comment?

They are definitely not in the 56 Marietta building.

They are a nice bunch of guys, but there facility is definitely not a real "data center". It's one room in the basement of an small, otherwise nondescript office building noth of Atlanta. The joke around town used to be they were running out of a closet, and at one time that was close to true. (It's better than that now) I wish them well so I won't provide all the details, but let's just say this is a good place to put a hobby box, and that's about it. There is NO redundancy available at this facility.

ITK

I may have confused Marietta FiberNet with the 56 Marietta Building, sorry about that.

However, intheknow, you have only one post and the first post you have is to tell how bad they are, very suscpicous. I open to any comment on them, but I also want to hear a comment from somebody that has a history/record/credibility to show.

Yes, Marietta Street in downtown Atlanta has nothing to do with the city of Marietta. The city of Marietta started a municipal fiber provider a few years back, that's who ColoAtlanta has (some of?) their connectivity from.

Also, they say their providers "peer" with C&W, etc. I wouldn't regard that as the same as having C&W and other Tier1 pipes coming directly into their routers, would you?

However, intheknow, you have only one post and the first post you have is to tell how bad they are, very suscpicous.
Well duh, I'm not going to attach my name to this post, I need to maintain my anonymity in this case. I deal with these guys frequently.

I understand your concern, and would probably would raise the same points as you do above. My comments are hardly describing them as bad, if I wanted to slam them I certainly could. In fact, I said I wish them well.

But have you been in their facility? I have many times. Can I prove this to you? Does it matter? Hop a flight to Atlanta and see for yourself. What I said is "this is a good place to put a hobby box, and that's about it. There is NO redundancy available at this facility." Any amount of research will only show this statement to be indisputable fact, at least as of 3 weeks ago.

If they've added infrastructure in the recent weeks, I'll gladly retract my statements. Again, I wish these guys the best. But you guys should know it's not a real data center according to the usual standard.

I really have nothing to prove here. Ask them yourselves. Ask for pictures of their facility. Ask for pictures of the data center that show the whole room. Ask for pictures of their NOC. Ask for pictures of their cooling units. Ask for pictures of their UPS bank. That should provide the answers to your questions.

Best Regards,

ITK

Knowing what Marietta FiberNet charges for transit, I have trouble believing that this company can keep their doors open long at the pricing they have listed on their webpage.

My experience goes back quite a few years with this gang.....
A Guy named Vladimir, sold me a Blue server and a lot of smoke, mirrors..Different names,,,,etc...very sloppy control of their client list, and hype.
I still get dumb E mails from them. which prompted this tirade. I had nothing but problems with them and no real tech suppport.

I wasted about 4,000.00 finally after much contentious discussion they pulled the server out of the rack and shipped it to me...I found it to be a hodgeppdge of non standard hardware and a strange bios
I threw it out.. and hooked up with a company called Zipa in Downtown New Orleans/Their system never even Blinked During and after Hurricane Katrina. The Tech support Guys are right there in the Building...and speak
US English....
