Midnight Commander appears to require "Glib" but Glib will not compile
correctly on the server. Therefore, Midnight Commander is not working
properly. We're using RedHat 7.1 .

Any suggestions?

--EDIT-- Please don't say "Use something other than Midnight Commander" as MC is what my programmers need to use.

I don't see how anyone can help you unless you list the specific errors or anything related to the problem.

Why don't you just use mc that comes with RedHat 7.1??? :confused:

Actually it doesn't appear to be with our version, but we got it working fine using an older version of Glib.
