I just hooked up with cephrenhosting.ca

Hmn...

so Cephren markets itself as Canada's largest web hosting provider, whereas Tera-Byte's about page lists themselves as Canada's largest hosting company. Am I the only one sensing a bit of a conflict here?

I got to say that for unix hosting they just don't have it together. Don't expect anything from these guys- There is plenty of other good hosts to choose from.

Well that was a complete turn. What exactly were the problems you had?

I probably should'nt have raved about them until I was with for at least 6 months.

-problems with tech support, had to send way to many emails to get things done.

-pricing is totally out of line
-miva cart -on the site it was offered for $40 a month- then they changed it on me and wanted to charge me for the full year- then they said they could'nt do it after I agreed
-think that flat file programs are better that dbased ones (vbulletin) and wanted to charge me a couple of hour work on that.
- no experience in e-commerce, if they do have e-comm sites you can't tell.
-slow billing inquiry responce time
-small owner also shares office/ server space with his sheet metal company.
-usless control panel
-server lags sometimes
-no ssh, telnet

For me, I do mainly e-comm sites and these things are important to me.

I am not saying they are terrible, but they were terrible for the things I needed. On a positive when I did get them on the phone they were very nice, but they just don't have enough experience.

This really sums it up, and often is the main problem.
