I have learned about tranxactglobal a week and a half ago, and I'm very excited about their prices and what seems to be a great service. Unfortunatly I never got a chance to test them and I'm slightly annoyed about the fact that no one is responding to my sale call. I would like to know if anoyone had any experience with this company. I want to make sure that I'm not getting myself stuck in a trap

I think people should also post WHY they voted a particular way.

yes, i agree.

there have been several votes saying they are bad without any explanation.

I haven't used them directly, we had a machine with serverhost in the dv2 datacenter quite a while ago, which was average-ish.

I just wonder how long they can sustain these cheap servers - with no disrespect intended, they aren't the size of RackShack, so I imagine they don't have the purchasing power that RackShack does either - so they pay more for their machines, resulting with lower profit margins.

Lets hope they prove me wrong and offer a good product that that price :)

Matt

ME vote for "great"!

ME LOVE:
1. They had sent them support tickets and they replied me within 24 hours!
2. Prices cheap + Super Server
3. Support is excellent
4. Good Uptime and No Downtime so far.

ME HATE:
1. I want to have a better connection! Even though the speed has improved recently.

Overall: 9.00/10

Never count anyone out just because they are small or smaller than the competition.

We were the last IPS in Houston to really start up but now we are 5-10 times the size of the largest competitors (largest at the time we started).

Everyone has to start somewhere. Personally, I wish them the best of luck.

we had a machine with serverhost in the dv2 datacenter quite a while ago, which was average-ish.

In what ways?

Speed of the cogent link?
Speed of the aleron link?
packet loss?
bad ping times?
downtime?
support?
overall hardware quality?
hardware speed?
hardware downtime?
software installation when you got it?

The two most improtant aspects

uptime and support

sharkman is that an answer to my question or also a question to matt or other customers?

So you do have a server there? Or are you answering based on feedback you received privately from current customers?

You were with serverhost - one of our colo only customers with their own machines - I think this would be reflective of them - not us.

Sorry guys , I'm a bit lost what are we talking about, and why are we talking about dv2 data centre

panopticon

tranxactglobal.com is at dv2. So was serverhost.com but with different servers. So if the network uptime was not so great that would certainly reflect on tranxactglobal.com (unless maybe serverhost only purchased cogent bandwidth whereas tranxactglobal.com pays for aleron+cogent) but if it was the servers themselves that caused the downtime, since they were different servers that would not reflect on how good or bad tranxactglobal.com is.

sailor - let me ask a question since I've never quite understood the exact relationship between tranxactglobal.com and dv2.com - if I buy a server with tranxactglobal.com and need tech support (for example the server won't come back up and I need a tech to see why it has crashed) will I always be dealing with you or will I be calling you plus some other people with tranxactglobal.com, or would I also be using the services of a dv2.com tech who might also be servicing the old serverhost.com servers when they were there? Just curious who exactly 'you' are (or is) as it is a bit nebulous and undefined whether you are the same as dv2, or whether you are one person, or whether you are one person and a dedicated tranxactglobal.com staff or whether you are one person who is connected and utilizes the staff of dv2.

for brevity - you can consider it all to be the same thing and people. just legal compartmentalizations.

Inf fact - the tranxact area is where we keep all hte dedicated boxes. Netdepot owns the ip address space - we will use the dv2 name less and less.

you know - kind of like ev1 and rackshack. :)

We've had lots of downtime issues with DV2 that were related to DV2 and not Cogent. The only Cogent-related outage was caused by DV2's failure to pay their bill at one point and were turned off. They told me that Cogent was having "routing issues" and that was why they turned down the connection, when I spoke to a Cogent employee who told me they had failed to pay their bill. They also assured me that they would have someone on-site 24x7 by August 1, 2001. I'm fairly confident that still don't have someone on-site 24x7 now. I know of several other companies that have had similar experiences with them. They also denied us access to our equipment, and continue to lock us out of our cabinets. That's why I voted the way I did.

Jeffrey - I fell like I am about to talk to one of my kids. LOL

You should be careful not to tell stories. Big people in the world see right through them and it reflects poorly on your self. they might think - wow this guy is in such trouble and fears this other company so much that he has to resort to "unprofessional tall tale telling".

I thought we had deided not to appear in each others story lines.

Any one ever been to Chuck E Cheeses - you know that game - "Bop a Mole" - this little mole keeps popping up and you have to bop it to get points. My kids love that game - I get to play it some time to as an adult. :)

I guess it is fair game - corefighter - you are absolutely correct. thanks for bringing it up - I would not have done it myself since I am not going to competitor bash unless I am smitten first.

Since Sailor continues to lie, I will be posting the chronicle of all of my dealings with DV2 shortly. I have e-mails to backup all of the information I will post.

You two are welcome to post what you like, I'm not here to censor everything (as opposed to what some may think), though I will warn you that when nothing good can come out of something, something good isn't going to come out of it. Deep, I know...

Wise words - I will not be dignifying JK's future responses here with a response - its not that I am not defending myself - I will be doing that in the appropriate manner outside this forum - its just that I dont want to waste any your time reading this trash or watching a playground brawl. truly amazing - well - I am off to build some more servers and spend my time productively. :)

Sorry to do this to ya' sharkman, as I don't think you're question has fully been answered, but I don't think it is going to be answered either. You're free to try again with thread II.
