I have a friend who is 16 and is looking to become an affiliate for a well known gambling site. Is it legal to advertise and market another companies gambling site and software? Or is it illegal to own a website that just advertises another casino?

Well theres two issues.

1.) Can your friend become an affiliate at 16 years old? Considering the site is 18 and up I would probably say no but that will depend on the gambling site.

2.)Legal to advertsie a gambling site and software via a website. I dont see why that would be illegal except if you violate copyrights, trademarks, ect..

*Just guessing that your friend is in the United States*

Yes he is in the united states, but he remember, he is not operating the casino or controlling it.

should be fine the law is you cannot gamble... as long as he doesn't gamble should be fine. Give the company he is looking to advertise for a shout.

Any lawyers that could give a word on this? It will be most appreciated.

That is a valid point. I would check the casinos tos and see what they say if its legal for him to be an affiliate it should not be illegal to host a site.

Just my 2 cents didnt mean to be rude earlier.

it does not mention age whatsoever in the tos

I think better to wait for another 2 years when your friend will be 18, meanwhile he should learn advertising and ethics of marketing so that at the age of 18 your friend will quite ready and things will be legal thereafter ,what I think.
Please also check the same with your legal authority.
