When there are so many things you'd like to create/do/upgrade on your website, so many plans and ideas in your head, but you don't have the skills to do it!!

Don't worry.

Just make one page per day, after a month you'll get a wonderful website.

I think what we need is sufferance more than skills. If you have sufferance , you can get skills by learning, but if you have skills can you get sufferance by learning ?

Well, sufferance, we need sufferance.
Sufferance first , skills go after.

Take the time to search google for tutorials on which phase you are trying to achieve. Relax, take it a day at a time and soon you will get the results you want :)

It frustrates me - there is so much i want to learn in depth! php, sql, flash etc!

And the lack of anything faster than 33.6kbps internet here doesn't make it any easier!

Still, one step at a time!

I skimmed so sorry if this has been recommended, but I would buy books and learn from them - as long as you have the software, the internet connection won't hinder you (well, for most things). I learned everything I know from books that I bought and read as well as just doing the things I wanted to learn over and over again. I wanted to learn Photoshop so I played with it every day for hours at a time - I eventually bought a few books and slowly went through them front to back.

I think the key thing is to be patient. When you really want to know these things as you do, you will have a tendancy to rush through the process trying to get the end results - but this will lead to disappointment as you may not retain key points that hold the knowledge together in the long run.

I agree - I always learned best by diving in and deconstructing the code of existing pages.

Of course, when time and money are at stake, there's always elance.com :)

With personal stuff I will usually work hard to finally get it. If it's a client project I may outsource if there are time constraints, but even then i'll try to do it on my own.

I agree with that but my biggest frustration is not having all them time to do the things I would like to with my site.

You have to have this first:
1. Patience
2. Passion
3. Love
4. Hardwork
5. Resourcefulness

You can hire a skilled person.

Or if you want to do it yourself than it will require moderate amount of your interest, passion, involvement to frame your idea and give that idea a shape.

All medicine are not sweet and all surgury are not painless, but we have to take it.

Take your time or take a small amount of money and hire someone to do it for you...or teach you how.
