My friend has a Website with only 15-20 pages, already live and built in HTML. She'd like to be able to sell 5-10 producta on her site and have a link on every page, view cart and cleckout, so as a user navigated through her site they can checkout whenever ready. Is there a good company anyone can recommend that can give code for existing pages, or give easy to use functionality to add to her site to make it a simple eCommerce site?

Something affordable and easy to use would be great if you have any suggestions!

If your friend is also in the Bay area, she might consider Paypal in conjunction with a merchant account or 2CO - depending on the type of volume she is going to be processing per month.

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing she would want something besides paypal - does paypal have functionality to have links on various pages of an already built site? Is there something more professional looking than paypal? How about shopsite.com or x-cart.com?

X-Cart is mainly a shopping cart. Do you need that as well?

I recommend 2checkout due to its online transaction processing system that integrates the most up-to-date security features and its has no third party charges and no fees for leases, application gateway , account statement and overall no monthly fees.

2CO is not the way to go. They are a 3rd party biller. The retail shop that I work at used a different 3rd party biller through their POS system just because they didn't know anybetter. 3rd party billers are not backed by FDIC insured banks. Look at all the lawsuits PayPal has against them. I have a buddy that works for ModernAuthorize and they have a 2CO model. It doesn't work for us because our monthly volume is higher to where it's better for us to take the lower rates and monthly fees, but it might work for some of you out there.

Shopsite really is your best option for this sort of solution. It will generate code which can be added to your existing web pages in order to integrate full shopping cart functionality into your existing html site.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone! I'm liking the sound of goecart or charge.com. The only problem I see with goecart is price. The problem I see with charge.com is it doesn't look fully customizeable. And paypal doesn't seem incredibly professional although it is reasonable. I looked at shopsite but the problem I see is all their sample sites are not too professional - just kayak shops, tool sites, toys sites, etc.

Any more advice is very much welcomed and I appreciate it...

Considering that you are looking for a solution to integrate into your existing site, I would think the degree of professsionalism would be dictated by your current site design and layout vs the application that created the buy now links...

The only real difference between paypal and shopsite (or others) in this instance is that paypal lacks database functionality and will transfer clients to their site for checkout vs keeping the checkout process local..
