I did a search for Webmassive LLC.. and couldn't find anything.. i hope this is a hoax
ilyash 05-08-2005, 08:32 PM 80,000 ?
No way.. thats too cheap.
WHT is worth 5* more then that alone.
anon-e-mouse 05-08-2005, 08:39 PM Stephen still playing games huh?
Mike V 05-08-2005, 08:42 PM He just can't seem to get over being banned for multiple usernames. mikeylove did some nice research on another forum proving what the mods already know. Funny stuff :)
sirius 05-08-2005, 09:07 PM I smell legal action....
Sirius
Oakii 05-08-2005, 09:12 PM anon-e-mouse thanks for clearing it up
Someone put up a press release saying "Webdesignbase.com traded for unlimited hosting"
=] jp
Hands-on Mark 05-08-2005, 09:33 PM Lmao, try $500,000
Dan L 05-08-2005, 09:43 PM $500k for iNet?
I'm guessing that's about WHT's worth alone.
ldcdc 05-08-2005, 09:52 PM $500k for iNet?
I'm guessing that's about WHT's worth alone.Last time I remember a WHT takeover being discussed, the somewhat official figures mentioned were 2-3 times that. :)
That was about a year ago though, so things might've changed somewhat, but who knows in which direction? :)
Gabriel Murphy 05-08-2005, 10:51 PM Very interesting. Most news distribution organizations verify such press releases with all parties. Then I did a whois on webdesignbase.com and saw it is owed by Steven Barnes- the same idiot that claims he bought iNET.
No, the man on the moon bought iNET for $80K. Too bad this kiddie does not reside in the US.
A good laugh for a Sunday night.... :)
Kerry Jones 05-08-2005, 10:58 PM I'm pretty sure Inet is probably worth a few million.
Murphy, I wouldn't spend that $80,000 all in one place or spend it all on a shiny record player. :D
We all know I secretly bought and run WHT. ;)
Gabriel Murphy 05-08-2005, 11:18 PM Kerry, yes, now I can place all of the blame on you when the few members complain about how bad iNET is, etc. :)
Kerry Jones 05-08-2005, 11:31 PM I see the new inet property opening soon... "inetdidntdoitkerrydid.com" or "blamekerry.com".:D
CD Burnt 05-08-2005, 11:32 PM $80K?
is that with or without Kerry Jones?
:homer:

With :dgrin:
Kerry Jones 05-08-2005, 11:40 PM I don't think Gabriel would sell his good buddy out would you? :)
It would be well worth more than $80,000 since i'm a good cook, cleaner, etc. :P
Oakii 05-08-2005, 11:43 PM Maybe GoldenPalace would buy you =]
Kerry Jones 05-08-2005, 11:57 PM good idea. I'll have golden palace ship me in a crate. I only ask that there is several air holes and its on ground delivery. :D
I hate flying! :(
The Dude 05-09-2005, 02:01 AM Thank you for clearing this up Greg!!!
We have all been thru enough changes here @ WHT,he dont wanna lose you guys!!!!
INET/WHT!!!!!!! :)
Yash-JH 05-09-2005, 02:07 AM When i first saw this title, I thought iNET had been bought out by Jupiter/Internet.com
Hope iNET remains the way it is, your advert rates are still reasonable compared to other networks like internet.com
dollar 05-09-2005, 03:01 AM 80K? I'll put in a bid for 100k right now ;) Let me dream...
Kimmikat 05-09-2005, 03:09 AM I wonder if iNet will take a couple of transit buses for their properties? :D

Yep. But remember, if the bid is still open, I bid 80,000.01 :P
Who is Stephen John Barnes anyway? A former WHter?
It is hosted by The Planet, contact them and have them shut down the site/server, if you have not done so yet.
Who is Stephen John Barnes anyway? A former WHter?
A WHTer who has been banned many a time. He was involved in a certain 'irrationality hoe-down' as i like to call it, but supposedly got the boot after he and a fellow admin had a falling out.
I remember him trying to selling an mediocer anti-inet domain name for $50,000.00 . I don't think it sold
Oakii 05-09-2005, 03:43 AM I think Webmassive LLC bought that too =]
By the way, his former WHT nick was PatriotCow.

Perhaps you should have searched for it without the LLC :emlaugh:

Oh, ok. Now I know who this (insert a word here) is. You cannot expect much from a person who thinks that Nazi logo is cool, uses it as his avatar, and has no knowledge of the history at all.

That name just doesn't ring any bells for me. :o

Why? I know plenty of forums that are more popular than this one; why is it worth so much?

Probably because this forum makes so much money.
I believe with all the ads present on this forum it must make quite a bit of revenue for Inet.
Artashes 05-10-2005, 01:08 AM Gabriel, take the money!!! :emlaugh: And :gone:
JSpired 05-10-2005, 01:36 AM Someone just gave me this link tonight. Did this all stem from here? (http://www.*************.com/index.php?topic=120.0)
JSpired 05-10-2005, 01:41 AM Never mind, I see the domain has been banned. I'll forward it to the help desk..

Because there are heaps of hosts eager to spend big $$$ on customer acquisition.

I'm sure that's where the plan was hatched, but diaga gave the source in his post. (http://tutorials.webdesignbase.com/105.html)
VolkNet 05-11-2005, 02:24 PM At least in his post he posted nice keyword rich articles about each site. He may have helped your SEO even though this site is very high up for web hosting already.

Check out the prices on web hosting keywords and you'll see. This is a huge business and WHT has established itself firmly as the largest forum about Web Hosting around.
$80k? That's not even enough to make it a good joke.

Being popular and being profitable are two different things, where very few forums are. WHT is one of them.
Hostex Australia 05-14-2005, 10:34 AM Update:
Ok I have noticed the thread on webhostingtalk.com and I think some of those people are either over reacting or need to take a joke. This was a small amusement for myself to watch how much people over react on webhostingtalk over my stuff. Now people had comments like email theplanet to get the server taken down, as if they do not shut servers down for an article thats clearly a joke. Some say legal action will be involved, well you just need to lighten up and have a laugh over it or if you don't understand other peoples sense of humor then go ahead.
Right for those still wondering yes this article is a joke and is not real! Webmassive LLC is not affiliated in any type of way with iNet interactive LLC. Webmassive LLC has not even been in contact with iNet Interactive LLC.
This guy is an idiot, I got that ^^ from the link in the original post.
Oakii 05-14-2005, 10:39 AM That's probally after recieving a law suit threat from iNet =]

That would sound about right :P
lorandm 05-18-2005, 03:24 PM I don't want to be way off, but in my opinion iNET could be sold for about $4,8 mil - $5 mil.
And I perhaps could state that for the figures above an offer would be accepted...
