So I'm wondering if they really went out of business or that's just a temporary problem?

Now, now. Watch your statements ;)
If you'd have read threads, VAR's been dealing with High Loads, possible Trojans, not the Ribbed kind ;)... etc.
To simpy put a Subject up like this when you're only getting a Forbidden, well, that might help them go out of business.
;)

www.varhosting.net appears to load just fine for me. But the .com TLD is going to the node that has the issues with the 'Virus'.
Cheers

Cheers Great way to deal with a business, huh?
And I wonder why people continue to go to dirt cheap webhosts, even after issues like these happen all of the time...

I would have to agree with you. If you expect excellent service you need to pay the price for it. This cycle always goes on - The provider is excellent at first - The service level drops down slightly - Servers start getting attacled or something of that - Issues are not delt with quickly - Server load bounces up and down throughout the day - Clients leave - Company closes. I have watched that cycle happen with many companies. I am not saying that VarHosting will go through this cycle or is even going through this cycle, but this is merely an example. I personally do not understand how such cheap pricing can be maintained without putting a major tax on the server's performance and reliability.
Cheers

We have seen it happen thousands of times with companies that offer too good to be true deals and we will see it thousands of more times.
