Could someone tell me where the best place to sell a domain name ?

and

What is involved once the domain has been bought from me ie transfering to new own etc... how is this done ?

If you find a buyer on your own, have a look at the escrow services provided by escrow.com
Their prices have increased, but they still offer a good service.
