Hello,
Im looking for linux dedicated server. I need it for following use:
Selling web hosting for customer and using it for our own company need.
We looking for:
- Easy way to add/remove customer via control panel.
- Easy way customer can manager there own account via control panel.
- Option to our stuff to manager and working on the server.
Things like installing mysql, apache models (mod_perl, fastcgi etc) using telnet.
What server is the best for this use Redhat linux or Cobalt RaQ ?

I would definetly recommend Redhat over a Cobalt RaQ anyday, for a number of reasons:
- More powerful
- Software/Hardware easily upgradable
- There are many good control panels available for Linux Redhat that are comparable to the ease of use that you see in a Cobalt RaQ.

You could get a Red Hat Linux server with Plesk. Plesk is a control panel for Linux that allows both server and client access. I believe the new version of Plesk will work with Mod_perl.

You're really asking Intel architecture over Cobalt since RAQ servers use Linux also.

For the most part I recommend a dedicated box with 3rd party control panel anyways there really is no reason to go with cobalt anymore because the control panels out there now are quite good. Cobalt Raq's have a AMD processor, which is pretty crummy at handling processor extensive tasks while most dedicated servers have intel processors which are much better.
cbaker17, not all AMD chips are bad, Cobalt is still using K6-2s. Whereas a Duron or Athlon Thunderbird, are a heck of a lot faster.

All three of those chips tend to overheat or perform poorly in high heat areas, a bad choice for a server.

Many like using cpanel.net or plesk.com

Both are good we are using plesk right now just because cpanel wasnt avaiilable at the time we needed a control panel on all of our servers, plesk is a vary stable bug free product and we are very happy with it but it does lack some features, but give them time their really only a little over a year old.

They list a (new) beta version on their site, but I haven't been following it closely so it might just be the version you are using now. New is relative (:))
