My cousin & I talked about a domain for her real estate business. She has an existing page on the company's site. Without informing me, she purchased it from Yahoo. We now find a frame at the bottom for Yahoo Hosting! Yuk!!! I didn't think registrars did that anymore! Its her FirstName.com too! :bawling:

Sheri,
I never heard that until now, do you mind sharing the domain name with us so we can see it. As I have stated to a few hosting clients and domain clients they are in the business for "Search Engines" not domain names and web hosting.

I don't know about the hosting but when you frame re-direct a domain regged with Yahoo, they put a big ugly banner at the bottom.

Yahoo has 2 redirect options:
1) Standard Forward
The visitor knows forwarding has taken place because the address appears to change.
http://www.sedoparking.com/*********** (example of one of my sites)
is displayed in the web browser as the address (URL) of the destination page.
2) Masked Forward
The visitor does not know forwarding took place because the address appears to stay the same. Instead visitors see:
http://***********
is displayed in the web browser as the address (URL) of the destination page.
Note:If you choose the Masked Forward option, promotional branding will appear in a frame across the bottom of the destination page to which your visitors are forwarded.
see example at:

Virginia, thanks for the info. I've used several registrars and hadn't seen this since 2000 with eNic. I'll have her switch to standard forwarding, which she's not going to like. I'll probably suggest transferring to another registrar in a few months . Thanks again.

Transfer to a registrar that does not put ads on it(RegisterFly, godaddy) or use a free dns service like zoneedit
