I am getting a "page cannot be displayed" error message when accessing a new website. I have a DNS server, which I have edited the named.cong file. I have the website on a Windows 2000 server. I created the directory, domainname, and copied all the necessary files there. I started Computer Management, selected IIS, added a new website, and modified the properties. Then I try to access the website and get the above message. Did I miss a step?
I registered a domain name domainname.com, changed the DNS server propery to point to our DNS servers, changed the named.conf file to add the new entries for the new domainname.com site, added the file names, and then made the changes to the web server. The DNS server is a Toshiba laptop, running Linux. I used the Gnome editor to edit the files.
The reason posting is here, is that I wanted to be sure I could setup a new website before I started configuring two RaQ3i to be a DNS servers, primay/secondary, and three RaQ3i for web site hosting.
