please excuse me im new at this. im thinking of getting a server from you with CentOS but i never use the OS before. at my disposal i have CentOS 4. here are my questions.
CentOS you provided is it version 4?
if not is it compatible with version 4?
how do you view/control the server in CentOS?
does any windows programs (leechftp,bulletproof server) works in CentOS?

If you also want Cpanel i will not recommend CENTOS4. Unsupported at the moment. However if its with out CPanel we sure can provide that. CPanel is the control Panel we offer. CentOS is Linux distro . Bulletproof ftp SERVER will not work. But if leechftp and BP CLIENT it will work :)

not a problem ill just get CentOS 3.4. if i can avoid using cpanel to control my server it would be great. does CentOS 3.4 have a built-in remote desktop connection or similar like windows does? what ftp program would you recommend preffable freeware.

Personally If you are going with a linux based server i will recommend CPanel. Linux does have something like windows called X terminal. However if you want it to use for hosting thats useless.
