View Full Version : Banners on WHT...
JRSEOMarketing 04-27-2005, 06:40 PM I am curious, and I didn't find a section about this...
On the WHT advertisements banners, I was under the impression the banners couldn't flash, or can't be considered "annoying".
This one seemed a tad irritating, especially when using my laptop

Hands-on Mark 04-27-2005, 06:46 PM That is annoying.
The Dude 04-27-2005, 09:29 PM I looked at it.....It didnt bother me in the slightest!!
Ah well
IvialisJonathan 04-28-2005, 12:07 AM It doesn't bother me but I can see how it would bother someone else.
gounder 04-28-2005, 12:17 PM It was annoying so I blocked the image in Firefox
JRSEOMarketing 04-28-2005, 03:17 PM Hmm.. I assummed it bothered some others.. its not a big deal.. was just curious if these types of banners were allowed..
Hostex Australia 04-29-2005, 11:46 PM Yeah it looks both annoying, and cheap..
whatever 04-30-2005, 04:47 AM It does look low budget, but it could of been MUCH more annoying.
TheDoctor 04-30-2005, 06:38 PM Well i've simply replaced all banners with an image of my choice. Works for me, and the image is static.

That is pretty annoying.
Plus, the animation only works on the old skin.
JustinH 04-30-2005, 10:33 PM Banners... WHT has banners?
See, I didn't actually start blocking them until Inet got crazy... and I guess they are going to be adding "Flash Banners" on Monday.
Firefox, Adblock, Remove It Permanently and Flashblock make Justin a very happy boy :).
123 Logo Design 05-01-2005, 03:45 AM Some banners can be a bit irritating. But then again, there are ways to disable them.
Overall I think most banners shown at WHT are fine.
TheDoctor 05-01-2005, 04:11 AM Every body, in a LOUD voice, repeat after me.

mikeylove you sure you never edit that mate?
Aussie Bob 05-07-2005, 09:59 AM I just got a 700x80 (or near that size) banner in the top banner spot. I think it was for deleted domains. Looks like these bigger banners are going to be standard in that space, which is better for advertisers, imo.
Kimmikat 05-07-2005, 12:38 PM I saw one too. :)
Aussie Bob 05-07-2005, 06:38 PM Yep, here it is -
bigdavestar 05-07-2005, 06:52 PM I saw it as well :)
