They just look good and add to a page in my opinon. As they're easy to use as plain html text they're great for adding something without increasing load time. It brings the look up to more of a high-tech look a little without adding anything to the overall size of the file. If you look a the keyboard there are a great number of these that can be added. Try experimenting with wingdings, there are a boat load of cools ones that can also be used with the same results. My fiance knows when I have done a design without realy looking to hard.
