Hi!
As a non-US based web host with a lot of sales in the US, we have several times found that customers ask for a phone number to call, but when given a: "Call us on 011-46-8792...." they shrug off, simply because it's not local...
Is there any way for a non-US company to obtain a 1-800 number and then forward calls to a local number? This would greatly help us and probably a few other in our position. Any advice/suggestions on where to turn?
Best regards,
/Alx Grepe

Here is a solution I have considered (as I am currently planning to jump into hosting myself). I am in Oz and have considered a call back arrangement.
1) uReach www.ureach.com have voice mail plans that include your own personal 1800 number. You can get alerts sent to your pc when you get a new message (ICQ email, etc) and can access the messages via their web site.
2) Use a pc-to-phone account to return the call.
I would be interested to hear of any other solutions.

Here is a mob who do international call forwarding:

I am sure there must be others if you do some googling around.

I could be wrong, but last time I checked uReach only accepted US credit cards... no Canadian or any other country for that matter...
You can use a kallcents follow me 800/888 number.
It would be a 800 number in the usa, and forwarded to your international number.
I imagine you could search out kallcents8 on the net
Edited to remove link - i reviewed the rules and saw i was in violation. Sorry

Try telesys.cc. They offer 800 forwarded to any European phone for 12 cents, and it costs a little more if you are outside the EU.
