I still dont understand the reselling business.

I have spoke to many resellers and they tell me I am limited to one server which is about 60-100 domains. Then I have to go get a dedicated server.

My plan is to use reselling packages for about 500 to 1000 accounts. I dont understand why they they want to limit my accounts to 60 or so?

Can they just put the rest of the accounts on another server? Why is there a limit in this business.

I dont want to deal with technical side of this business. Thats why I want to use reselling packages such as the one VO offers.

In this case the reselling business is limited to 60 accounts!!! Can some one explain please.

Not really, probably they put limits to ensure that you'll have to move to a dedicated.
I don't see that VO have limits of account that you can resell.

what people are trying to tell you is that once you have a lot of accounts, it is a good idea to get a dedicated server as it will work out cheaper.........

There are essentially two types of reseller plan:
1) you buy space and bandwidth and subdivide it as you see fit
2) The VO method which you already know about......

on plan 1) for example, you can only put so many domains on one account, because there is a set amount of bandwidth and space......and you wont fit more than 40 or 50 on there.............To have 500 or more accounts you would just need to purchase more of these reseller packages if you dont want to get a dedicated server.........

on plan 2) you can get as many accounts as you want....You are just selling VO accounts and really just getting a profit from each one sold......so therefore it wont matter how many of those accounts you sell.............

which type of reselling is better?

using VO I can offer 20 GB of transfer for $40 and make about 20 profit.

Using other methode I have to buy 12GB for $35 and I can not even sell it for $40.. Am I missing somthing here?

The 2nd type seems to be better for smaller accounts like 1 to 2 GB!

What's a VO plan?

I'm guessing it's one of those ready made plans that you resell at a marked up price.

Kickster,

Once you have "enough" users, you can move to a managed dedicated server if you do not want to deal with thechnical part. A managed server costs a little more than a dedicated one, but might be more profitable for some users/companies.

prepetual,

VO stands for VenturesOnline (www.venturesonline.com). What they do is they offer 50% off on their normal pakage pricing to their resellers rather than giving them X GB webspage and X GB transfer per month and having the resellers using that space/transfer however they want.

Another reason is the way some control panels work, they assume that all resold accounts are on the same server.

Why not get a managed server?
