Ok, probably going to get lynched or something but i will ask it anyway.....

How do all you people out there feel about Mr Bush's decision on pulling out from the Kyoto (i think thats how you spell it!) agreement?

I'm not an eco warrier (though i do want one of those funky chemical suits) or anythin, but am interested to get a global opinion on this one. :)

i think it was totally predictable considering his record on environmental issues in texas and his links to industry. hes allowed to walk away from it and he can suffer the consequences whatever they will be. of course tony 'spineless' blair will back him all the way

I'm a tree huger myself and I'm proud to be one. I personally don't like Bush, never have, and probably never will.

God, don't get me started on him.

Do you think anything will actually be done? Not many people seem to care (meaning joe public) in america. (which is a real shame in my opinion.

I'm a tree huger myself and I'm proud to be one.

Don't get me wrong, i'm a very keen environmentalist, i just don't want to be cast into the same group as those that vandalise and generaly act like prats in the name of 'mother earth'

Well extreme actions call for extreme measures. I don't belong to a group, and perhaps my definition of "tree huger" is different than that of others.

One thing people dont understand is everyone has different opinions, why should you expect Bush to have the exact same opinions on every subject as you, thats impossible because you dont have the same opinions as everyone else.

Bush has over a 80% approval rating, even the nincompoops out there think hes doing a great job handeling the economy, war on terrorism, etc....

Would you rather the entire country be broke, while bush works on Global Warning.

Some of you people need to think about things like this instead of flying off the handle when someone doesnt agree with you. The fact that this country is free to disagree, is what makes us so great.

If he's so great, then surely he can multi-task?

Any way, you don't have to have a bad economy in order to have a more effective policy on your emisions.

If you actually look at your economy, the only reason it does so well is because you have non - existent policy on any environmental issues.

Britains economy has been far more bouyant than yours of late, and our policy is far more stringent than yours.

Some of you people need to think about things like this instead of flying off the handle when someone doesnt agree with you.

I don't think any of us have actually flown off anything. You post, however, is somewhat knee jerk.

As we all know, everything is finite, most start their engine every morning, some start bigger engines than others, the ones that start bigger engines burn more fuel and contribute more to the use of fossil fuels.

Do I want a bigger car with a bigger engine? YES - Do I think twice before I turn the fire on or turn the gas heating on? NO

I dont think twice about any of it, hell I will probably be dead before it ever effects me, why not just let the next generation deal with the crap and devestation we leave behind!!

It is indeed saddening to see what is happening, and that after checking various reports it is said we have about 40-70 years of fossil fuels left, before that we will probably have all died from the excessive pollution in the environmnent.

Just try and remember, every journey you make to work, every electrical item your turn on, every heater you activate you are crawling one step closer to the destruction of the planet, we are all guilty of this but hey, we should all be long gone before it effects us.

Let our childrens children figure out how to tidy the sh1t pit we create for them.

Good theory. Don't agree with it one little bit though. Short sighted and bloody minded.

and by the way, its affecting us all now. Thats not hearsay, it is proven that temperatures are rising.

Always playing Devils Advocate, i invite everyone to read a rather lengthy article that argues that the Global Warming hysteria is nothing more than that.

Temperatures are rising, yes...but since the beginning of the industrial revolution, scientists predicted a long time ago that temperatures would rise globally 4-5 degrees F. However, temperatures have only risen about .5 degrees F.

Besides, the earth has a way of balancing itself out, it can heal it self in tremendous ways. If your talking about this winter being a bad one, keep in mind what last year was like, record amounts of snow in Boston, whereas this year we have only seen a few inches.

Even though the ice age and heating cycles of the earth are thousands of years, I forget how many, we have warming and cooling mini cycles of about 20 years. Don't hold me to the numbers; it was a little while ago that I learned this.

Global warming is not caused by us. There has been ice ages before hasnt there? The amount of carbon dioxide etc puts out into the ozone is negligible compared to what a couple of volcanoes do.

I agree. The rising in temperatures is just a natural process that occurs every few thousand years - it is just another cycle, similar to the hydrological cycle, rock cycle etc.

Indeed, neither do I agree, Although it is an example of how most people in the world see things but just dont want to admit they see it that way because burning fuel is like a drug, we need it now.

So many people have become so rich from fuel that they are happy in their lives to keep it the same way and will do anything to stop it from changing incase their way of life changes.

Very true. Also he biggest emsions of ozone come from cow farts. The world is designed to deal with this.

What it is not designed to deal with is the amout of crap we as a species pump out into the world.

well, some days before I seen video on cnn.com which said the earth is not warming as fast as scientist predicted. I am not able to find link to that video but it was there in this month or last month coverage.

anyway, what ever we are doing is bad, if not for earth then for us. we need to find some way between all this and create general sense (specially in poor countries in Asia region) where people still use plastic bags in such a large quantity, though it is been banned by government but corrupt officers fail to control all this and this crap is getting all around us and will definitely effect our children's, region, country and world.

Even though we haven't seen great effects of this yet, the fact that Bush won't do anything about it really gets to me.
