Hello,

I've recently signed up with HostCharge and I'm starting to get a little upset. The signup process took about 3 days, which I'm not really upset about. I'm upset about the fact that I can't download their API documents that are linked within their MCC.

I've tried contacting HostCharge via email and via WHT, and in both mediums they remain confident that I can get them from the MCC, yet when I click on the links I get a 404 File Not Found for both documents.

My question to everyone is: Those of you that use HostCharge and were able to sucessfully download the gateway_guide.pdf and batch_guide.pdf, can you please arrange to send those documents to me somehow? Also, can those of you with accounts just verify for me that those links are now broken in the MCC so I know I'm not going crazy and to point out to the people of HostCharge that their site really is broken?

Thanks,
Chris

No one uses HostCharge or has the documents?

Howdy:

I use hostcharge.com. I've never had a reason to download the document so I wouldn't know.

However, they are trying to get the rest of v.1 of the MCC up and running. So give me a little time. I've been assured that everything should be working by the end of the week.

Give them a break....they're working hard. :)

As have I, I would just like the documents so I have be ready to go as soon as they are.

I'd give them all the time in the world if they'd just send me those documents!

Hi Smirks,

I'll be truthful with you here, our API docs are only 3/4 done hence we cannot post them. If they were ready we'd never stop you from downloading them :)

The thing is, we need to thouroughly test the API before releasing it. Beleive it or not, not many people want the API. All they want is the ability to manually key transactions.

As you may have notied our MCC is down, becase:

1. We called GeoTrust they said they'll have our cert approved asap. We cannot bring the MCC online until our ssl is up. And we cannot use our OLD ssl since it would disrupt our new signing request.

2. Some of you may have noticed that transactions took a long time to complete, but now thanks to a new layer we've developed transactions will complete in a matter of seconds.

3. We're about to offer realtime billing so we need to make sure no transactions enter the system while our database supports realtime billing.

The MCC will be back online with all features in 24 hours exactly.
Thank you for your patience and I look forward to working with
your business.

If you have any questions please contact me off forum.

Best Regards,
Asher.

Thank you for the honest answer, finally. If you would have told me the documents didn't exist yet when I initially asked several days ago this whole post could have been avoided.

I've just sent you an email regarding how I can begin to process orders through HostCharge. I've yet to recieive any info regarding how to input userinfo directly into your database, or even how to begin charging cards for that matter.

The core of our service is complete, hence it was OK for us to launch. If it wasn't we wouldn't launch in the first place.

We email you questions so that we know a bit more about your company and your operations, we run each application through a proper approval screen, we do not approve each applicant blindly as it is risky. I think we do have a right to screen our own applicants. ;)

And yes you do have to wait until Saturday which is not far off :)

Regards,
Asher.

P.S:- Smirks, it was perfectly OK for you to post this here, we do not want to hide anything from our clients/prospective clients.

While working with adebill/hostcharge for the past 3 months trying to get a gateway set up i have yet to see it working.
They are constantly changing and redoing the site scripts even tho they claim to have launched
and have numerous problems with there merchant accounts and ssl. They had the same problem with adebill they are saying they are having with hostcharge nows. dont know what the problem has been but i have given up on hostcharge and my recomendation to you is to search elsewhere as it will only happen again in the future based on my experience with them.

Seems they have been trying to launch numerous sites with them being half done. instead of waiting untill they are finished.

Regards,
Deb

Deb,

How exactly can you conclude that HostCharge is a half done solution? Have you tried our services yet? No? Good, then please dont pass your opinion since you dont even know how we operate and what we've accomplished. Where exactly did you conclude that our system doesnt 'function' ?

What we've accomplished in the past few months is a lot more than what any of our competetion have done or are close to doing.

We arent launching any 'numerous' websites as per your claim in your post. The only operation we have right now is HostCharge. ADEbill was stopped a while back and since the only type of clients we had were hosting firms and hardware sales (pc) we transfered them to HostCharge who are pretty happy.

It is not your place to conclude that HostCharge is 'half-done' the features it has are already such, which make it a complete and better solution than the rest.

Our:

- Virtual point of sale terminal
- Client management
- Multi-currency billing
- Statement tools

are fully complete & functional which is perfect for any company to start billing.

While I admit that HostCharge has a few features missing off the MCC, most have already been completed but are not up yet because we definately need to extensively test them before launching them. But it is confirmed that these features will be fully available this week of March 2002.

Unless you have a proven point to say about our company I suggest that you not pass your opinion as it has no evident backing.

Can you please tell me what problems have you found with our SSL or merchant account? You're not even a client and you're bashing our service. There are none to my knowledge so your post is unjustified. You simply cannot come here with 9 posts and start bashing a company which you know nothing about.

Please email our clients who do post in our forums and you'll see that they're well satisfied with our service.

Thanks for your concern and opinion however please come back when you have a valid point.

Regards,
Asher.

When did we give you the run around? At HostCharge whatever is advertised on our site is fully available! I do admit myself that adebill wasnt completed as planned but that was due to various reasons. However HostCharge is completely different.

And this is not a flame war im trying to start, I literally hate flames as much as the next person on these boards because I really enjoying reading these forums and and helping people out. However when a person with 1 - 15 posts starts bashing another company its usually something suspicious. I'm sorry if you think that is crude but thats just how I think :look:

So my apologies if I offended you :bawling:

Asher.
