I'm in a ranting mood today, so don't mind me! :stickout
Does it annoy anyone else here when some sites put up misleading claims about what they offer?
One of *the* most misleading is the "Unlimited/Unmetered Bandwidth" thing, but since that subject has been discussed way too many times, I'll just leave it at that.
Another thing I noticed is the explanations some people put beside what they offer for bandwidth. For example, at www.your-site.com, they offer 6 GB of bandwidth and explain that with that bandwidth, your site can receive at least 500,000 hits/month.
6 Gigabytes of Transfer: Enough bandwidth for over 1/2 a million page hits each month.
For someone who might not be familiar with all the technical details, they don't realize that the number is extremely misleading. The number of visitors you can receive/month based on the bandwidth will depend on the size of your site and whether you have downloads or a lot of pictures.
Does anyone else here think that web hosting companies should offer a better explanation of Bandwidth? It's fine to include an estimate of how many visitors you can receive, but they should also explain what other factors affect bandwidth.
Just my two cents,
