Who really owns a domain name? Is it the admin, billing, or registrant contact? I assume it's really the billing contact because he/she is the one that PAID for the domain name. Am I correct?

ARETNA 03-12-2002, 01:51 AM Per my knowledge, more than likely isnt is the administrative contact the one who "owns" it? Chicken 03-12-2002, 02:11 AM Registrant. serve-you 03-12-2002, 02:37 AM Technically, no one owns the domain name. The registrant "leases" the name as long as billing is kept current. -Dan ChowSumDung 03-12-2002, 03:35 AM  Still confused. Is there a link to a source that can explain domain ownership in layman's terms? serve-you 03-12-2002, 03:38 AM Try this: http://www.opensrs.org/enduser_FAQ.shtml#belong -Dan |
