Does anyone know how i can send mail from my site email address?
Ive got the facility on my server, but the only trouble is, that i am with AOL as my ISP, and obviously i cant use that for my smtp.

I just wondered if anyone knew of a way round this problem.

Thanks
When will aol just bite the bullet, and admit defeat with their browser and stupid mail facility...

if your site doesnt come with smtp then download something like argosofts mail server from download.com and use that. complete doddle to setup. put it this way my gran managed it with a little prompting by following the instructions.

contact your hosting provider. nearly all hosts offer smtp in the form of authenticated (or pop3 check required) mail.yourdomain.com

I dont know anything about aol [except that they suck! ;)] but if your ISP does what is called as SMTP filtering you may not be able to send mail from your hosting account

cant you just use AOLs outgoing mail server?

Yes you can and thats the idea of the ISP's who filter thirdparty SMTP. ISP's may have a list of blacklisted domains [SPAM list] and if you use their SMTP server they can reject the mail

If I am not mistaken it has to do with protecting their IP's against getting banned for spamming
