Hello!

I just have been thinking why the name servers for my domain listed under Internic is not in the proper order?

Example below.

Domain Name: ***.COM
Registrar: GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC.
Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com
Referral URL: http://registrar.godaddy.com
Name Server: NS12.***.NET <-- Note the order
Name Server: NS11.***.NET <--
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 16-apr-2005
Creation Date: 12-apr-2005
Expiration Date: 12-apr-2006

Is it something to do with GoDaddy's datebase? Anyone with expertise in this, please share with me.

Thanks!

I just hate my perfectionist characteristics! ;)

That happens sometimes, and with some registrars too. What's
important is that your Start of Authority (SOA) records are what
they're intended to be.

So if your domain's nameservers list ns2 as the primary and ns1
as the secondary, but their SOA records list ns1 as the primary
and ns2 as the secondary, it's the SOA that's relevant.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong somewhere.

he order doesn't matter really, its usually random when looking up domains from the registry :)
