~170 ms ping from Switzerland.
I currently only have a budget of 20 US$, would this price be possible ? It's for my own use

Forgot to ask: How much would be Cpanel ? If DirectAdmin, is it possible to have it in French ?

Hi,

$20 US is a bit under what i was expecting.

I have been able to find a skin for Direct Admin which translates it into French.

Cpanel is not an option.

Would 20 US$ be possible for a 3 months payement (maybe I can arrange that :) )
How much bandwith per month does a 3mbps connection do approx ? (in GB?)

Is this 3Mbps shared or is a dedicated 3Mbps that people can push 24/7?

Hi,

It’s a Shared Connection. As can be read in the TOS, we require our clients to be considerate of other clients. The load on the network is minimal as all clients adhere to these guidelines. The averaged peak over a 24 hour period on the network is less than a mbit, with individual non-seasonal peaks of around 3mbit.

I would like to check how much interest there is in this offer before i comit to anything. DjMix, but i would not settle for any less than $25/month.

So how many traffic can you guarantee on the server per month ? 3000 GB ?

Using 3000GB per month is excessive. and if a client used that much individually their account patterns would be looked into.

Then it's not at all a 3 mbps unmetered bandwith.
What is the max allowed ?

check the terms of service man, thats why i posted them, they are there to guide you so you know what is acceptable and what is not.

3Mbps unmetered would never ever even push 3000GB to begin with, so it doesnt even matter if it is.

That's not the same server. Unless, of course, the original post was incorrect on machine specs. In any case, diamondedge -- is the above setup (freebsd, rdns, 15 ips) available?

Thanks

3mbps = 1000gb :rolleyes:

Anyway, just for a warning-
I emailed GlobalDC awhile ago inquiring about the "3mbps" bandwidth. They emailed me back saying that the datacentre has 2x T1 lines (max 3mbps), which is shared between around 45 servers.

Now if everyone was pushing an equal amount at the same time, the max you could use is around 68kbps (similar to dual 56k modem upstream).

Maybe the thread starter can proove me wrong, this is the status GlobalDC was in a few months ago. Don't take to heart everything you read on a forum though, go and do your own research :)

Try using Global Dc's speed test

http://www.globaldc.com/speedtest.mpg

You will see you get a lot more than 56kbit upstream :)

No, sorry no FreeBSD.

The fact of the matter is that the network is not in place for people who are going to be sharing vast amounts of files. If a client attempts to use excessive amounts then their usage patterns will be investigated. This is an un metered server subject to average usage patterns, you are not given a set amount which you are allowed to use, but if you are hogging the entire network’s bandwidth 24/7 then you would be making it bad for other users.

Additionally, we do actually have a redundant connection in California, using SBC bandwidth (no cogent bandwidth – which Global DC Provide though)

The server which I am selling on WHT is different to the one I have available on my website. You will receive only 8ip addresses with this server.

I can guarantee you a server ideal for web hosting, sites will load quite comfortably and in good time. The network has good ping times.
