I signed up for a merchant account with this sleazy company PayByWeb (run by David Weiss). They use false advertising to lure you in for a merchant account and then switch the deal. What makes this one different than the rest is this guy actually had the nerve to TAKE $100 FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT and refuses to return it.

They are really a reseller for a 3rd party account with VolPay, not a real merchant account. The hidden fees are huge. The guy ignores your emails, and I was waiting for a response to my application for a MONTH, I had forgotten about it, and all of a sudden I hear back from him with this fee! Avoid!!!

Here's some more about this company:

"DAVID WEISS IS A THIEF and PAYBYWEB is a rip off. These people hide a 450.00 charge they surprise you with. They say it is free free free to get a merchant account. they ask for you bank account info when you sign up and then they went to debit the 450.00 from the account without a word of appproval. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY 450.00 UP front for your merchant account in which case ibill or a more known company like cc bill would be way better. THIS DAVID WEISS IS A FLORIDIAN SCAMMING SCUM BAG who prolly works out of his house in his boxer shorts!!!"

"I finally got an appology and a refund. David just happened to find all my emails. He has a poor business practice and I hope you are aware of this man before you send him money or else you will be in for a VERY frustrating ride."

Go with the big guys like PayPal, you don't get problems like this with them. :)

I am surprised - I thought VolPay was no longer actually.

This might actually be better in the Ecommerce forums to give people a warning

That is true, can we have it moved?

You might submit a trouble ticket to have it moved.. Or maybe "report to a community liason" and ask them to move it

Moved to the 'E-Commerce Discussion' forum.
