Well, today trying to fix a Frontpage problem I chowned, looks like all my websites. Now, none of them come up.

I wanted to just do the /home/sites/home/web/ but it looks like all my sites got affected.

Seems the owners name is set to nobody or webmaste (I chowned it to webmaster - but it truncated).

Now, none of my sites come up - it says forbidden.

So, how the heck do I get out of this one?

Hello Keith,

The only possible solution I can think of is to manually chown each directories to the respected site administrator. Also, if you have few websites then it won't take much time. Else it would take a hell lot of time.

Also, never try to chown directories like this:

chown +x /home/sites/home/web/foldername

A little mistake would make the whole /home/sites folder to be chowned with no undo options :)
