Are web ads a good source of ravenue?

Example:

How much a website like myspace.com can bring ?

On the other hand, how much ads would bring to a website that receives 200 unique hits a day ?

Website can bring lots of revenue from ads if website is done properly. That means good useful content, good design and good position in search engines.

But 200 uniques a day is almost nothing. I don't think you can get any decent revenue from it unless you are selling something.

I would say a 2-7% CRT can be assumed. You then have to find out what the cost-per-click for the content you have. The content will depict the ads that run on your site.

At least $120.

200 unique visitors x at least 5 page views per visitor = at least 1000 page views per day x 30 = 30000 page views per month x 2% click through rate = 600 click x at least $.20 per click = at least $120

If you can get around 200 unique visitors a day, I would recommend going for an advertising agency like FastClick (www.fastclick.com). It's free, and it would probably bring you the most revenue. But, make sure you have updated content all the time. That's the key. You want those users to come back all the time.

Cheers,
Josh

Put up some Google Adsese adds and you should be able to pay for your hosting costs.

I just visited your website. Are you sure that "federal criminal defense attorney" keyword pays $56.59 per click? What the heck. I don't think anybody would pay that much for one worthless click.

It works but you do need a lot of unique visitors and ones who are willing to click the ads, and it helps if users wan't to come back to your site so keep content up to date!

That is what the Google estimator came back with. This is the estimated amount you would need to bid to stay number one for this keyword.

These lists are just a guide to the highest paying keywords not the exact amount of the bid.

If you check over at Overture the key phrase criminal defense attorney is paying $24.01 and there are three advertisers over $23.00 . So yes this is an expensive keyword.
