Hello,

Iv'e been trying (and failing) to access WHT for over and hour and a half now. The is the longest time I have ever known the server to be down for without warning.

Does anyone know what happened?

I have been having intermittent problems since i logged in about 1/2 hour ago.

yup. Definettly intermittent. One second it loads the next it doesnt

I had problems but, the site seems to be faster in IE.

i did experience it to.. but not that long... maybe we are all attempting to view a single post.. just my guess.. :)

I've been on most of the morning and not had any problems so I don't think the servers were down.

The only thing I noticed (and still notice) is there are no adverts.

I didn't notice about the adverts, strange. I was also having problems trying to post to this thread. It just didn't want to do anything.

Hold on... I didn't reply to the previous post at 12.40! there is something going on here. I just refreshed the main Lounge page and a different thread appeared at the top (UK Elections), now this is back at the top (before i posted before anyone points that out!).

The ads are not there for me. The site has been loading extremely slow for the last 30 minutes or so.

Yes, sorry about the picture. It totally screwed up.

EDIT: I've just worked out why. Basically, my browser crashed on me as it was half way through uploading the picture. Therefore, it only uploaded half of the picture!

Today it has been slow or not loading at all for me, untill half an hour ago. It's still a bit slow.

It was down for quite some time, no idea why at this stage. :(

I've a feeling it wasn't just WHT that was down. When I couldn't get on here, I went to ProgrammingTalk which was also down, and Hotscripts.com which was really struggling to load the frontpage.

Well - everything seems to have defaulted through to normal now. UK (GMT) time now is 17:09.

As KimmiKat said, the gerbils escaped, so no power was generated, so the servers must've gone down, and they had to use ants to generate power, resulting in poor performance of the servers.

Logically speaking...

it has to go down sometimes....

the site is not under 24/7 hour survi. and with the large amount of visitors its ought to go down...

On a network like Rackspace, and with the amount of money that iNet pays there is no reason it should go down for even one minute.

Yeah, it was down for around an hour or so, from here. I checked with some folks online from other parts of the globe, and it was down for them too.

I also couldn't access my inet advertising account, so it was a rack issue (maybe) with their rackspace setup, and not just limited to WHT.

How do you know that?

Inet would have multiple monitoring systems inplace, as would rackspace, for instances like this.

No longer can I see the "favicon" for WHT in my browser's (Firefox) address bar. I think something quirky is going on here. That little vB logo icon is what distinguishes my WHT tab from all the rest; bring it back! :(

3 different sites im on all have been having problems the last few days,slow loading,etc.....1 of them was a DDOS ATTACK cause the mods posted a message....I dont know why the other 2 were slow loading.........

I dont like it 1 bit though!!!!!!
